Athena Kromat
Ever since I was little, I have always loved listening to my mom reading stories to me. I still remember how captivated I was, at four years old, by deliciously wicked stories like ‘The Witches’ and by equally silly stories like ‘The Cat in the Hat’. It was what I looked forward to. When I was a bit older, I started writing simple stories in my diary, just for myself to read and enjoy. Some of these stories still make me laugh, while others make me cringe in embarrassment, but they are my secret world. When I was selected to participate in the Young Author Scheme, I was ecstatic but apprehensive. I didn’t think I could write a good story all by myself. But with the help of Ms Khoo and the encouragement of my school teacher, Mrs Yeo, I made it!
