Jerome Thio
My name is Jerome Thio. I am 11 years old and currently studying in Anglo Chinese School Primary. My story was written last year in 2016 when I was in Primary 4 after I was selected to join the Young Author Scheme. Besides being an avid reader, I am also a competitive swimmer. In my free time, I enjoy writing short stories. I was introduced to the Young Author Scheme when I was selected by my English teacher for the programme. Although initially apprehensive, I was thrilled at the same time to be able to write my very own story. I developed a love for reading at the tender age of 4. Almost everywhere I go, I would have a book with me. I read a wide genre of books and my current favourite authors are Rick Riordan, Anthony Horowitz and Richard Paul Evans . The Young Author Scheme allowed me to express my thoughts, ideas and feelings. I learned the different techniques of writing and improve my ability to express my ideas clearly. When I submitted my first story, a sense of pride and fulfilment overwhelmed me. I am now more confident and looking forward to write more stories.

Clarence Chan encountered a ghost one day when he entered the famous haunted toilet in Anglo-Chinese School. When Clarence’s friends Jason and Ka Hao did not believe him, they returned to the haunted toilet so that they could see for themselves. The ghost instructed them to stop the people who killed him by sending them back in time. They could only return when they have accomplished their task.
