Vito Martin
Books, soccer, coding, climbing, eating, science, Australia, Bohol, Batanes, Sagada, the beach, driving, biking, Luisa (my sister), Star Wars, D+D, are a few of my favorite things, the order of magnitude of which would depend on the time of day, phase of the moon, or fill of my tummy. But what I am almost all of the time, is curious, to try new stuff, figure things out, and get slapped on the side of the head with a new discovery. And usually whatever gives a hard slap goes on the list above, and goes into the regular rotation.
I started reading at four, and by five, I was devouring Harry Potter’s books. You could say I grew up with Harry, Hermione and Ron as I read each book in the series, often reliving the tales in my head. Then, as I grew older, I discovered adventure classics like the Lord of the Rings trilogy, Tom Sawyer, the Illiad, and The Old Man and the Sea. I also discovered authors like Neil Gaiman and Bill Bryson. I would immerse myself in their universes, often imagining my own corner of it. To remember some of my fantasy worlds, I began writing them down in short stories and thus began my writing career.
