Starting in 2003, the Young Author Club follows students from their specialized workshops under the Young Author’s Scheme to a unique three-month mentoring process to witness the completion of a storybook, including a dedication, blurb and by-line. Averaging 3000 words each, these stories extend beyond the realm of an eleven-year old and are now available for sale through Janus Education. They can be found in Singapore’s national libraries.

A collaboration between Young Author Scheme talents and Young Audio Book Presenter’s Scheme participants, these audio book compilations facilitate reading by combining an interesting storyline with a familiar voice (one of their own). The English language comes alive in this resource material that doubles up as an accompaniment to higher-level comprehension.

In August 2010, Janus Education launched its first Young Author Club session in Woodlands Regional Library. Taking place on the last Friday of every month, YAC looks at creating a support group for young authors to discuss ideas and receive critiques from their peers. YAC occurs from 4 – 5.30pm at Everest Room, 4th Level, Woodlands Regional Library. To stay up to date on its latest themes, sign up for our newsletter.
