Amirul Syamil Shaik Allauddin
I’m a writer drawn to the wonders of the human condition—sorrow, hope, and uncertainty. I write to discover how everyday people cope with extraordinary circumstances, most often using symbolism and disturbing realism. My writing tends toward reflective, evocative prose, where subtle hints contain some extraordinary truths. I believe stories must leave their impression—disturbing or comforting, but never recalled. Aside from writing, I am always observant, observing how people talk, break, heal, and evolve. For every story that I weave, it is indeed a beacon of light to others who are walking in the dark.

A single old lantern appears in a little town, and instead of phantoms, the human inner secrets are revealed. The town is besieged: admissions come out, marriages disintegrate, and a deranged ex-caretaker (the Mad Watcher) stokes fervour. With every fresh revelation — among them a buried horror — the town teeters on the edge of purge or protection. The lantern’s glow insists on a final reckoning that destroys more than it frees. The tale ends on a tragic note, with irreversible consequences and the lantern’s legacy as a sore the town will forever bear.
