Hello! My name is Ariel Lim Xin Yue, I’m 17 this year and I’m from Kuen Cheng High School. This story was written this year, when I was in the midst of preparing for exams. I enjoy dancing, walking my dog and watching true crime documentaries!

I had always wanted to join a creative writing workshop out of curiosity and my love for writing. Fortunately, the Young Author Award workshop did not disappoint! It was an incredibly eye-opening experience. Before this, I was apprehensive about showing others my work and was insecure of my own writing ability. I was able to overcome my fear through this workshop and with the support of my family, I now write and express my craft with purpose. Writing has always been a huge part of my life, and it will always be as long as my passion to express myself in artistic forms continues to grow.
