My name is Artemus and I’m 12 this year. I am in Nan Hua Primary School and I started writing Inseparable in late 2015. Writing helps me destress and cool off, and I often find the answers to Math problems after a quick writing session. To me, writing is more than a hobby. From experience, I’ve learnt that it is not easy to write on your own. The Young Author Scheme helps in that way. I think that the Young Author Scheme is meaningful, as it helps aspiring writers write their first book. Many people have the imagination but they can’t express it in print. That’s where the YAS comes in. My love for writing started when I was 7. I read many books, and they instilled morals in me, immersing me in a fantasy world. However, I did not have any real plans of writing a book. Until Ms Khoo came to my Primary 3 class and told us about the Young Author Awards, I started writing Soldier of War and Inseparable, teaching me invaluable lessons as I wrote.
