Hello, my name is Sarah Tong and I am from Methodist Girl’s School. I am 10 this year. I wrote the story ‘The Grand Adventure’ last year in Primary 4. This story was written the year after I lost my beloved little bear, ‘Green’ in Seoul. Even though I was reunited with him in my story, I never really found him. He is still somewhere lost in Seoul. I will always remember the many grand adventures I had with Green. When I first started participating in the Young Author Scheme, I was a little nervous as my compositions were not very good. However, I was delighted to be able to write about anything I wanted. Under the guidance of the understanding mentors, my story improved. I also realised that writing a story was not as difficult as I had imagined because I could write from my imagination. I loved writing the book as I could bring characters like my favourite teddy bears to life without it being too unrealistic. All in all, I really enjoyed this programme as it helped me improve my writing. I also understood more about the process of writing a book. I hope to participate in more of such programmes.
