The story is about how the platypus was formed. It is about two best friends – a duck and a beaver. This is a work of fiction. I was inspired to write this story by how beavers worked together.

When disaster strikes, a family cat, Willow, is left behind. She is forced to survive without her beloved owner's care. She then meets another pet, a canine named Oak. They begin to form a deep bond as they unite against the struggle to survive in the isolated city. Through a turmoil of trepidation, they soon realise that they only have two options: starve to death in the bleak conditions in the ruined city or abandon their home to venture into a forest where unknown dangers lurk at every corner. The pair of them will either triumph against all odds or perish in the impending disaster.
