Kids Can Read

A fun-filled and engaging programme where kids can learn speaking and reading through phonics, acting, writing and taking part in drama. This program can spark your child’s interest in reading stories, developing their imagination, improving their creativity and English vocabulary. Your child will learn how to understand the story and read one new book every month.

Alphabet Learners (Basic and Advanced)

A programme catered to enhance your child’s English vocabulary, speaking, listening and comprehension. With a focus on sentence construction and coherence in idea, your child will gain better vocabulary and learn how to identify things around them through drama and stories. This program will ensure that your child’s foundation in English will be strong and firm – paving the way for their mastery in reading and writing to excel in school.

Alphabet Authors

Ignite your child’s ability to visualise and create! Build a keen understanding of stories and vocabulary through story writing and storytelling. This programme increases your child’s confidence in acting, public speaking and writing. Your child will develop a love for English through poetry, drama and stories. In addition, they will get to start writing their own stories!

The programme’s highlight: Best stories get compiled into a specially designed volume!

Young Author Scheme (Junior and Advanced)

The ultimate destination where your child writes their own book! From in-depth characterisation to story structure, Veteran author Catherine Khoo and her team of published authors will guide and mentor your child to craft their very own stories. Many of its students have seen their own books published in various mediums available in all NLB branches. The YAS preludes the annual Young Author Award, supported by MDA, NLB, NBDCS and the Singapore Book Publishers Association.
